About Us
David's story

I handed my clients to Speech Pathologist colleagues; gave my furniture away and packed my bags to move to the beautiful North Coast region of New South Wales. The dream was to start a practice in the country away from the noise and distractions of the city. But as the saying goes, life is never exactly what you plan.
Two years on and I'm back in the city, spending some time every month traveling North.  I'm happily having a creative and innovative life.There is a fantastic partnership with Sydney Speech and Language Centre; the developing resource of Top 5 Kids Books; a new approach to service for residents in aged care facilities, and more services and products yet to come.  The most exciting and surprising to me is our own charity. I'm lucky enough to have the support of a talented and energetic team.

David Barnier
David is the founder and Principle Adult Speech Pathologist for The Australian Voice Clinic. He also works with children and adolescents. He also holds positions with Speech Pathology Australia as CPD Co-Leader for NSW and is the Private Practice Representative for practitioners in Inner Western, Sydney.
Jackie McCarty
Jackie is the founder and Principle Paediatric Speech Pathologist for Sydney Speech and Language Centre.
